On December 22, 2023, China SMRA issued the "Guidelines for Standardized Labeling of Health Food Symbols," which modified the design of the "Blue Hat" symbol for health food.
The key points of the guidelines are as follows:
1. The health food symbol is the exclusive symbol for health food products that have been registered and filed in accordance with the law. The health food symbol should be properly marked on the smallest sales packaging of health food products.
2. The health food symbol should be clearly and easily identifiable and should be standardizedly marked in the upper left corner of the main display area.
3. When the surface area of the main display area of the smallest sales packaging of health food products is greater than 100 square centimeters, the width of the widest part of the health food symbol should not be less than 2 centimeters. When the surface area of the main display area is less than or equal to 100 square centimeters, the width of the widest part of the health food symbol should not be less than 1 centimeter.
4. The health food symbol can be proportionally scaled according to actual needs, and the pattern and color should be consistent with this guideline.
5. The holders of health food registration certificates or filing certificates and health food producers and operators should effectively fulfill their primary responsibilities for food safety and standardize the labeling of the health food symbol.
