
From May 26 to June 3, 2026, 6 new cosmetic ingredients (NCIs) have completed notifications with China’s National Medical Products Administration (NMPA).
Rosa alba (White Rose) is a classic botanical prized for centuries in both Eastern and Western cultures. Renowned for its delicate fragrance and pure white blossoms, it has traditionally been used in soothing skincare and aromatic applications, combining natural beauty with botanical care.
Pyropia haitanensis is an edible red algae mainly found along the southeastern coast of China, particularly in Zhejiang and Fujian provinces. Rich in polysaccharides, amino acids, minerals, and other bioactive compounds, it is valued as a naturally derived and gentle marine ingredient for skincare applications.
Anoectochilus roxburghii is rich in bioactive compounds, including kinsenoside, polysaccharides, flavonoids, and flavonoid glycosides. It is recognized for its antibacterial, soothing, moisturizing, repairing, antioxidant, and anti-aging properties. Widely used in traditional Chinese medicine, it has also gained popularity as a valuable ingredient in the cosmetics and food industries due to its unique functional benefits. This marks the sixth notification of Anoectochilus roxburghii extract as aNCI in China.
Fagopyrum Tataricum Seed Extract is the extract of the seeds of Fagopyrum tataricum. Rich in flavonoids (such as rutin), sterols, and phenolic compounds, it is widely used in nutraceutical and skincare applications for its antioxidant properties and metabolism-supporting benefits.
