On July 7, 2026, China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) issued a notice proposing the development of a cosmetic standard for Ethyl Butylacetylaminopropionate.

In China, Ethyl Butylacetylaminopropionate has a dual regulatory identity, as it can be used both as a cosmetic ingredient in daily chemical products and as an active ingredient in mosquito repellent pesticides.

For cosmetic use, Ethyl Butylacetylaminopropionate has been included in the Inventory of Existing Cosmetic Ingredients in China (IECIC) Category I under entry No. 01962. Its approved functions are specified as skin protectant and cleansing agent.
